Meeting was called to order at 6:10pm

Board members present were President Henry VonDemfange, Secretary Ross  Hilden, Treasurer Kathie Titzler and Recording Secretary Liz Chase-VonDemfange.

 

Minutes of last Meeting - The March 13th minutes were read and approved

 

Treasurer’s Report - As of 4/22  $2,000 in dues has been collected.  Total of current bills is $228.40.  Final balance (including $190.80 from 2007 ending balance) is $1,962.40.  It was approved and second that the bills be paid.

 

City PermitPortland Park & Rec  responded back that the League’s permit would be $976 for 2008.  The Board requested that the President submit a letter to see if the price could be reduced.  If that isn’t successful then see if Bill Martinell or Johnathan Nichols could get in touch with their contacts and contact the city commissioners as a last resort.

 

The Board asked  Liz to double check with PP&R regarding their request for the League to provide a Certificate on Insurance.

 

Competition CommitteeJack Elder wasn’t present.  He will be told to plan on four full nights and be ready to report back at the next meeting.

 

Volunteers 

Official’s Training - Henry will ask Bill Martinelli, Shaun Vanoni, and Mark Leo to assist on May 8th.

Work Party – Ross will send out an e-mail reminding teams of the May 17th date.

Court Maintenance -  Steve Tally of Bocce Bums  has volunteered to help.

 

East and West Side Leagues -  Portland has bocce scheduled for four nights.   It was reported that the East side league will need to setup their own collection of money and schedule of play.  There can still be competition between east and west leagues after the league championships are determined.    

 

Discussion – Henry has volunteered to look into insurance for the league.  He will also  obtain a 5013C permit.

 

Next Meeting – Will be at Madison Grill, May 8, 2008 at 6pm.
